Today’s Devotionalโฆ
Did you know that in your Bible, there are at least four people who bore the name Jesus, and only one was the Christ?
In the verse above, the name Barjesus simply means the son of Jesus. Which Jesus? For we all know that Jesus the Messiah did not have a biological son.
Morose, the name Jesus, and Joshua are essentially the same name in their original languages, but differ only in English, simply due to translation paths.
One would erroneously think that this Barjesus should be of Christ by virtue of his name, but see how Paul describes him in Acts 13:10 (KJV)
“โฆfull of all subtilty and all mischief, child of the devil, enemy of all righteousnessโฆ” So it is possible to be called Jesus and be of the Devil. Ponderโฆ
Now, seeing that there were many “Jesuses” in the Bible, one of which was clearly not of God as seen in our opening verse, isn’t it necessary to question which Jesus is being referred to in your church? Chances are, it could be another Jesus who is not the Christ, but evil.
For how can we preach Jesus Christ as the One who saved the world, and yet recruit the same Jesus to kill “our enemies” instead of saving them? How can we call down fire in the name of Jesus when the same Jesus in Luke 9:54-56 rebuked James and John for asking to call down fire?
How can we preach salvation from sin by Jesus and yet tell people the same Jesus will roast them in an everlasting fire for not working out their own salvation by themselves with fear and trembling?
Which Jesus have you been worshipping? Listen, simply because a miracle is performed in the name of some “Jesus” does not necessarily conclude that this Jesus is the Messiah. Barjesus, in our opening verse, did many miracles, but was of the Devil. Ponderโฆ
It is possible to have an evil spirit named “Jesus” operating with the spirit of antichrist. Ponder deeply here.
Men and brethren, Jesus came to take away the sin of the world and to reconcile mankind back to God. Any “Jesus” who does not uphold this truth and the finished works of Christ could just be a “demonic Jesus” even if he gives you accurate prophecies, healing, or deliverance. Beware!
May the Holy Spirit open the eyes of your understanding to see Jesus the Messiah and His finished works, in His holy name. Amen
