Romans 5:14
(KJV) Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
Today’s Devotional…
We have all been taught that Adam sinned and that his sin contaminated the whole world. But what did Adam really do that God qualified as sin?
Adam simply ate a fruit. Have you ever thought about that? Haven’t you been eating fruits? What is the difference between the fruits you eat and the fruit Adam ate?
The main difference is in what God thinks about each of the actions. You see, it was God who said Adam’s action was a sin, and nobody ever argued that God was wrong. So, only God can define sin.
But when it comes to righteousness, many people do not want to let God define righteousness; rather, they give religion and Moses (who don’t know any better,) the power to define righteousness. How can they?
The God who said Adam’s action was sin for all men is the same One who says Jesus’ act of obedience was righteousness for all men. Why argue with God, who is the progenitor of all things?
Rom 5:19 puts it clearly: “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous”
You are righteous and perfect in Christ. May this knowledge bring you everlasting joy, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
