1 John 4:14
(KJV) And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
Today’s Devotionalโฆ
Before this stream of dramas we see in our churches today in the name of testimonies, the apostles of Christ first testified a long time ago, and their testimony was true, because they were eyewitnesses of their testimony.
The apostles testified that Jesus was the Son of God, sent by God to save the world. And until today, that remains the most powerful testimony ever!
What we call testimonies today is not what the apostolic eyewitnesses of the manifestation of the Christ called testimonies.
Despite the many miracles the apostles saw (and even performed themselves) they considered nothing weightier (and worthy of testimony) than the fact that, all in all, this Jesus, came to save the world from sin, and He did.
A true apostolic testifier today, in one who stands in the congregation to testify of the finished works of Christ, and not of material possessions.
Genuine and worthy testimonies are supposed to be apostolic in nature. For though the apostles were many, their testimony was one – it was all about the Savior of the world.
If the apostles who saw all kinds of miracles rather chose to testify of the salvation of the world by Jesus Christ, then you should reconsider what you call testimonies today.
May your testimony today reflect and align with the testimony of the earliest apostles, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
