1 Thessalonians 5:23
(KJV) And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Today’s Devotional…
The apostle Paul, in the verse above, while praying for the holistic sanctification of the brethren in Thessalonica, revealed the complete nature of man: spirit, body, and soul.
Have you ever wondered what becomes of your spirit all the while that you take all your time focusing only on your body and soul? Think.
You feed and clothe yourself to satisfy your body; you learn different subjects to nourish your mind, but what do you do to nourish your spirit (spiritual nourishment)?
If you are a threefold being (body, soul, and spirit) and you only focus on your body and soul, you can never be whole or complete because one essential part of you is unattended to. Ponder.
Imagine that your physical body is divided into head, trunk, and legs, and then you only nourish the head and the trunk, neglecting the legs completely. The result is that you would appear to be alive but lame and helpless.
And if the example were to be exact, your spirit is rather your head. Ponder…
Hebrews 4:12 says: “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Yes, just as your body needs food and your soul needs knowledge, your spirit needs the word of God all the time.
Every time you listen willingly to the undiluted word of God, it cuts through your soul directly into your spirit, nourishing you with rich spiritual food.
Just as you eat and educate yourself regularly, you must consistently and intentionally submit yourself to listen to the undiluted gospel of Christ.
May you intentionally begin to feed your spirit regularly from today so that you may attain complete maturity and human stability in this world, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Conclusion
Dear Beloved, when you make the Word of God your daily food, you will notice a transformation that no physical discipline alone can produce. Your thoughts will align with His truth, your decisions will carry His wisdom, and even your body will enjoy the peace and health that flow from a well-nourished spirit. A strong spirit sustains you in challenges, anchors you in faith, and empowers you to live above fear and weakness.
Do not limit your spiritual nourishment to Sunday services or occasional prayers. Just as you eat daily, learn to spend time with the Word daily. Read your Bible, meditate on its promises, listen to faith-filled teachings, and surround yourself with an atmosphere of worship. These practices consistently feed your inner man and keep your spirit alert and strong.
Also remember that a nourished spirit overflows into the lives of others. When your heart is full of God’s Word, your speech will edify, your actions will inspire, and your life will silently preach Christ. You become a living letter of God’s grace to everyone around you.
So, declare boldly today: “I will not neglect my spirit. I will feed it daily with the Word of God.” As you do, the God of peace will preserve you wholly—spirit, soul, and body—unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. May your life shine as a testimony of complete maturity and stability in Him. Amen.
