GIVE TO YOD WHAT IS GOD’S

𝙼𝚊𝚛 𝟷𝟸:𝟷𝟽 𝙺𝙹𝚅 𝙰𝚗𝚍 𝙹𝚎𝚜𝚞𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚜𝚠𝚎𝚛𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚜𝚊𝚒𝚍 𝚞𝚗𝚝𝚘 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚖, 𝚁𝚎𝚗𝚍𝚎𝚛 𝚝𝚘 𝙲𝚊𝚎𝚜𝚊𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝙲𝚊𝚎𝚜𝚊𝚛’𝚜, 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚝𝚘 𝙶𝚘𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝙶𝚘𝚍’𝚜. 𝙰𝚗𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚢 𝚖𝚊𝚛𝚟𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚎𝚍 𝚊𝚝 𝚑𝚒𝚖.

When Jesus told the disciples to give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, they understood easily because He was holding a coin with Caesar’s image on it; but when He told them to give to God what is God’s, they did not understand because they did not know that the image of God was engraved in the hearts of every single one of them. Abba Father!

What the crowd intended as a trap for Jesus on the subject of taxes paid to the Roman emperor at the time, became an open school for them.
Jesus seized the opportunity to tell them that they were all made in the image and likeness of God, and so should return to God even as they returned Caesar’s coins to him through taxes. Ponder…

Even though they did not understand, none of them asked the question, and it is the same thing today, where Christians are more curious about the things of the world than their identity in Christ.

And that is why today, for lack of understanding, many Christians have reversed the order. They give to Caesar what belongs to God, and to God what belongs to Caesar. Ponder…

Yes, you give money to God and give your body to the devil. You give an offering in church with little money on Sunday morning, and give your whole body to fornication of alcohol the same day in the evening. Terrible. That is not the order.

God wants you to give Him yourself (your whole body and soul, and all your attention). For as He is, so are you. So give back to God what is God’s.

Churches may be interested in your money, but God is interested in you. Your money (no matter how,) cannot replace you before God in fellowship.

Your body is the temple of God, your soul and your spirit belong to Him. But money and all material wealth belong to this world. So give to God what is God’s, and to the world what is the world’s. Ponder…

Just as Caesar could not accept any other material as payment for taxes, God does not need anything but you in fellowship.

May the words of this devotional stir up your spirit to give your whole self to God in communion, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
