THE KEY OF KNOWLEDGE

𝐿𝘶𝑘 11:52 𝐾𝘑𝑉 𝑊𝘰𝑒 𝑢𝘯𝑡𝘰 𝘺𝑜𝘶, 𝑙𝘢𝑤𝘺𝑒𝘳𝑠! 𝘍𝑜𝘳 𝘺𝑒 ℎ𝘢𝑣𝘦 𝘵𝑎𝘬𝑒𝘯 𝘢𝑤𝘢𝑦 𝑡𝘩𝑒 𝑘𝘦𝑦 𝑜𝘧 𝘬𝑛𝘰𝑤𝘭𝑒𝘥𝑔𝘦: 𝑦𝘦 𝘦𝑛𝘵𝑒𝘳𝑒𝘥 𝘯𝑜𝘵 𝘪𝑛 𝑦𝘰𝑢𝘳𝑠𝘦𝑙𝘷𝑒𝘴, 𝑎𝘯𝑑 𝑡𝘩𝑒𝘮 𝘵ℎ𝘢𝑡 𝑤𝘦𝑟𝘦 𝘦𝑛𝘵𝑒𝘳𝑖𝘯𝑔 𝑖𝘯 𝘺𝑒 ℎ𝘪𝑛𝘥𝑒𝘳𝑒𝘥.

Today’s Devotional…

Lawyers? No, Jesus was not referring to lawyers in the context you may know today, but in the New Testament, this was referring to interpreters and teachers who had a mastery of the Mosaic law.

But why would Jesus accuse the very people who upheld the law of holding back the key to knowledge for everyone including themselves?

Well, this was because, after a very long time of struggling to find salvation through the Mosaic law, all of Israel found out that the entire law did not make anyone righteous, and indeed could not.

So, continuing to overload people with innumerable laws that could not give them the salvation they so much needed, was to Jesus, a hindrance to their quest for knowledge. Ponder…

Just like some “modern lawyers” in our churches today masquerading as pastors, the lawyers of the time of Jesus knew that even they could not get salvation through the law, yet they kept heaping the laws on people, giving them false hope.

Listen, don’t let anyone who is not willing to enter into the knowledge of the finished works of Christ lead you through the path of endless laws that only lead to frustration. Ponder…

The key to knowledge has been given to us in scripture – that Jesus suffered and died to set man free from sin, and to usher all humanity into eternal life with God as a free gift.

Don’t let religious systems that have rejected the knowledge of the finished works of Christ stop you from enjoying your heritage in the finished works of Christ.

May the Holy Spirit satisfy your desire for knowledge of the truth that reveals the salvation of man, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
