Today’s Devotional…
After examining Jesus thoroughly, Pilate concluded before the Jews that Jesus was without any fault whatsoever.
This was because the law of Moses, required that the “lamb” to be sacrificed (for sin) had to be without blemish; and John the Baptist had already identified Jesus as the Lamb of God.
While the blood of the animal lambs could cover the sins of Israelites for a time, the blood of the human Lamb annihilated the sin of all mankind forever.
Because Jesus Christ was without sin and without any fault, many assume that He did not deserve to die. However, these are rather the qualities that qualified Him as the perfect sacrifice for sin. Ponder…
If Jesus had been freed, man would have remained in his sin because, when you free the sacrificial lamb, then you have nothing to sacrifice.
He offered Himself willingly as the sacrificial Lamb. Abba Father.
May the Holy Spirit grant you deeper understanding, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
