Today’s Devotional…
The salvation of the LORD was not for the nation of Israel alone but for the entire world.
Before Isaiah, Moses first spoke about the salvation of the LORD in Exodus 14:13 when God was using him to deliver the people of Israel from Egypt. But God was indirectly talking to Moses about the world’s salvation and not just Israel.
In our opening verse, the prophet Isaiah confirms this.
Luke 3:6 records: “…And all flesh shall see the salvation of God…” This indicates that the salvation of the LORD was indeed for the whole world, and that it was a man – the man Jesus Christ.
Yes, Jesus Christ was the salvation of the whole world from sin. In His sufferings, death, and resurrection, Jesus saved the world from sin, in confirmation of the prophecy of John the Baptist who said Jesus was the Lamb of God destined to take away the sin of the world.
The world was long saved from the sin of Adam; but until you get to the full knowledge of “the salvation of the LORD”, you will continue to live in bondage even inside this “salvation”. This is the mystery of life in Christ.
May the Holy Spirit simplify this to your spirit, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
