Today’s Devotional…
There is a measure of grace that God has bestowed upon each and every one of us, to mould us into who exactly He wants us to be.
Even when it appeared to others that Paul had gained his status by his hard work in his tireless service to God, Paul himself acknowledged that it was all by grace that he had become who the people admired.
In another letter to the Philippians, Paul reiterated in chapter 2:12-13 that the only way for one to “work out their own salvation with fear and trembling”, was to let God work it out for them according to His good pleasure.
It is by the grace that both the weak and the strong get the same reward, the first and the last get the same wages, the rich and the poor get the same peace.
The grace of God is an expression of His loving-kindness and favour towards you, even you (or the world around you) think you do not deserve it.
God so raised the price for the salvation of man and man’s reconciliation with Him, that only He could afford to pay for that salvation and reconciliation.
When all mankind owed the debt of sin and could not pay because they all didn’t have what was needed to pay for the debt, Jesus paid the debt He did not owe, all because He had what was needed to pay for the sin; and above all, He had love.
Even today, there is a measure of God’s grace that accompanies you, even in Christ, carefully ordering your steps according to His divine purpose for you, to the glory of His name. Never work against this grace.
Until you acknowledge this grace and submit to it, you will find yourself working tirelessly everyday to please God, or to achieve the things of life, yet never attaining the goal.
When you permit the grace of God to work in your life, you cease from your own works and you enter into God’s rest. Abba Father!
May the grace of God abound in your life, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
