Today’s Devotional…
The apostle Paul, even while still in chains as a prisoner, when he had the opportunity to preach, he preached Christ.
From morning till evening, the apostle persuaded the people that Jesus was the Messiah, both out of the Law of Moses, and the Prophets.
Even in chains, Paul did not talk about his adversaries but preached Christ. Paul was demonstrating here that there is only one message – Christ.
Today, many so-called preachers use the pulpit to “settle scores” with fellow ministers of the gospel or address people who have hurt or wronged them in one way or the other.
When did other people become the gospel? Did Paul not warn us about those who preach “another gospel”? Watch out…
Some preachers use the pulpit to “address the nation” with such selfish political ambitions that do not represent God’s position in any way but theirs alone. When did God become a politician? Ponder…
The reason why many men of God have become motivational speakers struggling to address a wide variety of different topics altogether is simply because they do not believe in the all-sufficiency of Christ. In fact, they do NOT know Christ.
Preachers today who seek relevance before men rather than before God, have replaced the gospel of Christ with “more appealing” messages in order to gain fame and popularity amongst their followers. Sad.
Paul preached Christ from morning till evening. Can we still find preachers today who can preach Christ and Him alone crucified from morning till evening without digressing? Ponder…
If only you could capture the totality of the gospel of the finished works of Christ, if you could grasp the depth, and vastness of the man Jesus Christ, you would not have time to preach any other message, for you would be too busy drawing from His well of eternal wisdom and revelation.
There is salvation in no other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Act 4:12 KJV) Let this be a gentle reminder as we preach Christ.
May the Holy Spirit guide you in the path of truth, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
