Today’s Devotional…
In the book of Exodus chapter 3, the Bible records that an angel of the Lord appeared to Moses in a flame of fire, which burned, but the grass was never consumed. And something very significant happened; “Moses turned aside to see,” and that was when His entire journey with God began.
Exodus 3:4 records: “…And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am…”
If the fire had not appeared, Moses would never have turned aside to see, God would not have called him, and the Israelites would probably still be slaves in Egypt today. Ponder…
In our opening verse, Jeremiah was struggling to restrict the fire within himself from burning, but he could not. And I say to you, LET THE FIRE BURN!
You just don’t know whose attention your fire might be attracting. It could be the “Moses” that will eventually free this world from the wickedness of the “Egyptians” we see today.
Let you fire burn. It may be only a little spark, but you never know who is watching… Ponder..
All of the generals of God we celebrate in the world today were once mere “shepherds” on a lonely hill before they saw a fire somewhere and turned to look. Abba Father!
History will often remember the one who saw the fire and became the hero, but hardly the one who lit the fire. Regardless, let your fire burn. God, who numbers the “seven thousand” beside Elijah, will reward you accordingly in due time.
Your “fire” could be that single gesture to worship your God publicly and proclaim your perfection in Christ before many witnesses. Your fire could just be the life you live worthy of the price Christ paid. You know your fire. Just let it burn.
You don’t need to be a preacher who will preach to nations. Just let your fire burn to show the light to someone who is called and equipped to save nations.
Remember, your denial to let your fire burn is your silence or reluctance to proclaim the gospel of Christ, and this may keep several generations in capacity. Ponder…
May your fire start burning from today, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
