Today’s Devotional…
You have heard it being preached that if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can move mountains. And surprisingly, since the beginning of the church, men have yet to find faith that small. (Topic for another day)
But have you ever wondered what it would mean for someone to have faith that is bigger than a mustard seed? What if you had faith as big as a mountain…? Ponder…
I know you may be thinking of all the impossible things you would do and all the precious things you would command to appear at your disposal. But did you know that there is something you could achieve with faith that is more precious than all these things you desire?
Yes, our opening verse tells us that the end of faith is the salvation of the soul.
David in Psalms 119:81 cried out in the voice of all sinful mankind and said: “…My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word…”
Many years later, God answered this prayer by sending His Son Jesus Christ (who is the Word that became flesh), not only to deliver man from sin, but to bring salvation to the souls of men.
Your soul is your inner man, comprising the content of your mind and how it drives your life around. It is your soul that controls your body.
So, you may receive healing or obtain any kind of miracle by faith, but if your soul is corrupt, you are doomed. For as a man thinketh, so is he. Ponder…
So, the greatest achievement of your faith culminates in the salvation of your soul. When your soul becomes completely filled with the perfect knowledge of the finished works of Christ, you have attained the salvation of your soul from sin consciousness and condemnation unto death.
So, don’t ask for faith to get healing or miracles, ask for faith to understand and accept the finished works of Christ. This is what will reveal your identity in the heritage of God, and grant you eternal liberty and rest in all things.
May your faith testimony from today, be of the salvation of your soul from the dead works of the law, sin, and death, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
