Today’s Devotional…
Many Christians believe that Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world; but somehow, they still manage to believe that the sin did not completely go away.
They believe that Jesus indeed knew no sin, yet they don’t argue that He had to die even when the scriptures clearly say only he who is found with sin should die.
Many Christians love to be righteous, they love to accept the gift of righteousness that only Jesus Christ can give, yet again they choose to “work out their own salvation” by themselves, even when they never succeed. Sad.
Don’t you know that all the people who lived before the cross waited in hope just to get the gift of righteousness from Christ? And you who now have this precious gift of righteousness want to turn back to the law in an effort to seek the same righteousness Jesus Christ has already given you?
When will you learn? How hard do you think you can work out your salvation that no one before the cross was fit to do? How can you be looking for that which is not lost? Ponder…
May the Holy Spirit grant you understanding as you go back to read our opening verse, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
