YOU HAVE COME TOO FAR…

𝑅𝑡ℎ 1:11 𝐾𝐽𝑉 𝐴𝑛𝑑 𝑁𝑎𝑜𝑚𝑖 𝑠𝑎𝑖𝑑, 𝑇𝑢𝑟𝑛 𝑎𝑔𝑎𝑖𝑛, 𝑚𝑦 𝑑𝑎𝑢𝑔ℎ𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑠: 𝑤ℎ𝑦 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑦𝑒 𝑔𝑜 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑚𝑒? 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑦𝑒𝑡 𝑎𝑛𝑦 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑠𝑜𝑛𝑠 𝑖𝑛 𝑚𝑦 𝑤𝑜𝑚𝑏, 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑚𝑎𝑦 𝑏𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 ℎ𝑢𝑠𝑏𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑠?

Today’s Devotional…

Sometimes, it is no longer just about where you are going, but how far gone you are from where you left.

Even though Ruth had the opportunity to return, she chose to follow Naomi in faith, even when there was no hope of finding a husband again.

It was not just about the uncertainty that lay ahead of her, but the bond she had built with Naomi through all the different challenges she had been through.

Ruth was with Naomi when she buried her husband and her two sons (one of whom was her husband). Ruth had gone just too far to turn back.

Sometimes in our walk with God, we burn the bridges as we advance, such that even when we desire to go back, we just can’t.

Since you decided to follow Christ, you have lost everything – friends, opportunities, leisure, etc. Now, many are watching and waiting for you to turn back so they can laugh at you. But listen; you have come too far!

Hebrews 11:14-15 says: “For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had the opportunity to have returned”

And verse 16 says: “But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city”

Listen, you have come too far to turn back now. And just as God honored Ruth at the end to be counted in the lineage of Christ, your God will honor you at the end with a crown of glory and honor. Stand firm, don’t give up, God is with you.

May the Holy Spirit strengthen you in all areas of your life from today, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
