Today’s Devotional…

According to Romans 5:13, sin had been in the world long before the law was given, but it was never imputed to anyone until the law was given.

Contrary to what the Israelites at the time thought (and unfortunately what many Christians today think), the law was only given for one purpose: to reveal the already existing sin in human nature which was inherited from the fallen Adam.

The law was not given to prevent people from breaking it. The law was given to accuse and condemn those who had already broken it before it came.

The only reward for the obedience of the law to all who were under it was the revelation of their sins and their sinful nature. Ponder…

The law came to reveal sin and empower death; for the wages of sin is death.

Corinthians 15:56 says: “The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law”. This verse demystifies the law, sin, and death.

May the eyes of your understanding be enlightened, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
