Today’s Devotional…
Prophet Isaiah, (just like all the other prophets,) only had one message – the Messiah (or the Christ)
However, it was not merely vain zeal to see the Messiah that drove them. It was the mission this Messiah was coming to accomplish for them, and for the rest of mankind.
It was not just for political liberty that Isaiah walked completely naked for three years, Hosea married a prostitute, Zachariah was stoned to death, and Jonah endured three days in the belly of a fish.
No, it was certainly not for healing, deliverance, or some financial blessing. These great prophets were not humiliated for trivialities. They saw something far greater than anything this world could ever offer – they saw righteousness!
Below is the great apostle Paul’s testimony of the Christ, in comparison to the things of this world, having had a rare privilege of encountering Him for a brief moment.
“I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, and be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith” (Phi 3:8-9 KJV) Ponder…
It was for righteousness’ sake that Isaiah could not hold his peace nor rest. Today, we celebrate our righteousness in Christ because the prophets stood firm with one prophetic voice – the Messiah.
May the mysteries of the prophetic voice be revealed to you, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
