Today’s Devotionalโ€ฆ

The Gospel is quite plain. Reading verses like the one above, makes the conclusive gospel message quite clear.

First of all, you must understand that from the beginning, God had never promised to leave any sinner unpunished or take away their sins free of charge.

And for any sin (where big or small,) there was only one conclusive punishment – death. That is why it was written: “the soul that sinneth shall die”. (Eze 18:4)

Many Christians believe that Jesus came to save mankind from sin, but what they do not understand is that He came first of all to execute judgment.

Yes, Jesus did not come to forgive sins, He came to ensure that all sinners pay the death penalty as provided in the law. It would only be after this payment that He could have the power to justify man.

Jesus came to serve justice, and indeed He did. When man was unable to die for his sin, Jesus took the death sentence upon Himself to die in the place of man.

Now, who else could be a better choice to come and justify man than the One who paid the full price for sin Himself?

Jesus Christ is the best justifier for all sinful mankind because He was the one who died for a crime He did not commit.

If sin still remains, then Jesus shouldn’t have died, but unfortunately, He already did. Abba Father!

May the Holy Spirit grant you understanding, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
