Today’s Devotional…
This is something many Christians don’t understand: that the man in Christ is a completely NEW CREATURE, and not a renewed or modified creature.
The words used in this context are “kainos ktisis” which refer to a new kind of creature that has NEVER been seen before. Did you get that?
Yes, the man in Christ is NOT a changed man but a totally new creation of God that has never been witnessed before.
And this is where the problem comes from. Modern-day Christianity is looking at changing bad people to be better versions of themselves. But that is not the gospel; at best, it is morality.
In Corinthians 5:17 the apostle Paul uses the same words again in the following phase: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a NEW CREATURE: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Did you see that?
Listen, if for all the generations from Adam to John the Baptist, salvation could not be obtained despite all the human effort, it was simply because it was NEVER about any better version of oneself, but a NEW CREATURE!
The NEW CREATURE is not a renewed man. The man in Christ is not a modified version of the man in Adam. They are completely different creatures with zero similarities before God.
Your greatest desire as a Christian should be to know the difference between the old and new creatures, and to situate yourself accordingly.
May the Holy Spirit satisfy your hunger, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
