Today’s Devotional…

You have to understand how God works:Β  according to the verse above, for no reason known to men, He just decided that the older of two brothers would serve the younger.

The apostle Paul, interpreting the scriptures, wrote:Β  “For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;”

This is to tell you that God decides on certain things independent of man’s opinion, and for reasons known only to Him.

This is exactly how God decided on the salvation of mankind. Long before the foundations of the world were laid, God decided in His heart, and according to His good pleasure, that men would be perfect before Him in Christ.

This was before Adam ate the fruit, and way before you ever told a lie. And if God owes anyone any explanation, it is to Himself.

So, the only way to explain why you are righteous today is that “God did it.”

May the eyes of your understanding be enlightened in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
