Today’s Devotionalβ¦
There are many disciples of Moses in Christ. But unlike those in our opening verse who openly admitted it, Moses’ disciples today masquerade as even as preachers of Christ.
Disciples of Christ preach the finished works of Christ and the eternal righteousness that came from it. Meanwhile, the disciples of Moses are those “Christians” who try to make everyone feel guilty of sin, by searching for all possible laws to accuse them.
The apostle Paul, in Romans 3:20, wrote: “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
Anyone who equates the salvation of men to the practice (or obedience) of the law of Moses is a disciple of Moses, an accuser of the brethren, and an antichrist; for he/she has denied the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ, and their divine purpose.
Jesus Christ is the end of the law according to Romans 10:4. So, Jesus is the end of Moses. Even Moses himself admitted this at the Transfiguration when he did not object to the voice of God telling the disciples to follow Christ.
So, are you a disciple of Moses or of Christ? Your answer is revealed in what you advocate for: whether the law, sin, and death; or the finished works of Christ, righteousness, and eternal life. Ponderβ¦
