There are surprisingly two sites for the tomb of Christ in Jerusalem today which Christians from all over the world visit every year, especially during Easter.
And for a long time, Christian scholars have debated on which of the sites is the actual place where Jesus was buried. However, one thing is true about both sites: they are both EMPTY! Abba Father!
Yes, understanding the significance of the empty tomb is more important than knowing the exact site of Christ’s burial; after all, it is empty.
The empty tomb is one of the most glaring proofs that Jesus the Christ indeed resurrected from the dead. But what is more important than this proof is the purpose of the act.
If Jeuss just wanted to pay for the sin of man, His death would have been enough. The resurrection of Christ was not part of the payment for sin; it was part of God’s plan to give man one of the most precious gifts – His very righteous nature!
Celebrating Easter without understanding the gift of the resurrection is a waste of time. The resurrection of Christ marked the beginning of righteousness for all men as God’s free and unconditional gift. Ponderโฆ
