Today’s Devotionalโฆ
Christianity today is more focused on preparing men to appear perfect before men than before God. And Christians today are more focused on what people say about them publicly than what God holds of their private lives.
There are many Christians (and even pastors) today who hide skeletons in their cupboards and are not even bothered so long as they continue to appear “holy” before men.
In many quarters of Christendom today, a holy person according to their denominational norms is simply someone who can successfully hide their evil from the eyes of men.
Many people a contented with the watered-down version of the gospel which teaches that when your good acts outweigh your bad acts, then you are righteous before God. Laughable.
Most churches in the world today claim Jesus died for sin, yet they emphasize righteousness by the law and by works. Even then, no particular church has an exhaustive list of sins that is universally accepted.
With this ordeal in place, the universal church body has resulted in a compromised system of worship called denominationalism, whereby sin is subjectively defined by every denomination according to their understanding of scriptures or the cultures passed down to them, and this is quite sad.
Your conscience may be pure according to the norms of your church, but remember that God does not judge based on your conscience of what your church thinks is correct. It is only by the finished works of Christ, that God judges.
May the Holy Spirit lead you to find the truth that is beyond denominational norms or religious rituas, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
