Today’s Devotionalโฆ
The preaching of the cross is both the power and wisdom of God.
It is the power of God in that it was through the cross that God defeated the devil, overpowered sin and death, and rescued all mankind.
And who would have thought that life could come to all men through the death of one man on a cross? That is the unfathomable wisdom of God
However, many people who reason according to the wisdom of this world, think that the cross is foolishness. They wonder why an all-powerful God had to kill His only Son to free men from sin, when He could just destroy the devil.
Well, Corinthians. 1:25 addresses such people plainly: “The foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” Ponderโฆ
God will never descend to the low level of comprehension of men just to prove Himself. God is all-wise and all-powerful. God is God; and someday, this reality of the cross will be plain to all men.
May God’s wisdom and power through the cross be revealed to you by all means, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
