Can sin and righteousness really coexist? The answer to this question draws the dividing line between truth and error.
There was once a time when the whole world was sinful; not even one person on earth was without sin. Thus it was recorded: “โฆfor all had sinnedโฆ”
Now, when Jesus came, He said this: As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.(Joh 9:5 KJV)
What Jesus meant was that He alone was righteous on earth at the time, yet able to illuminate the entire world into righteousness.
And after the resurrection of Christ, the light of righteousness actually shone on all the earth. And just like all were once sinners, all had then become righteous.
And just as sin reigned from Adam till the cross, righteousness also began to reign from the cross till today.
And just as two kings cannot reign over the same kingdom at the same time, righteousness and sin cannot both rule the earth at the same time. Ponderโฆ
May the Holy Spirit make the mystery of sin and righteousness clear to you as you give him your attention, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
