Gal 4:1 KJV Now I say, that the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
Today’s Devotional…
There is no Christian, who has never at some point in time, questioned the reliability of God, due to His silence at moments they badly needed Him to show up. This usually happens when the promises of God from scripture do not seem to manifest in their actual lives.
Gal 3:28-29 says this: There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise”
And if we are heirs, then we have an inheritance in the finished works of Christ. However, we can only gain access to this inheritance when we are no longer “children”, for the heir does not differ in any way from the slave when he is still a child.
The reason why many still do not have access to their portion of this universal inheritance in Christ is because, as the apostle Paul says in Hebrews 5 from verse 13, they are still babies needing milk, and not of strong meat. Ponder…
So, instead of asking God for things sometimes, ask Him for maturity because all things are yours according to Ephesians 3:6; whether Jews or Gentiles, for we all are fellowheirs, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel. Ponder again.
May your hunger for relevant knowledge of the finished works of Christ grant you the maturity to access your reserved portion of promises in this world today, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
