The law of sin and death ruled over mankind throughout the old dispensation, for all men had sinned, and were only awaiting the death penalty. So all that was required of the “Messiah” to fulfill the law, was for Him to die on behalf of all sinful men.
So Jesus fulfilled the law by dying for sin. However, things took an unexpected turn when this same Jesus resurrected again 3 days after His death. This was a shock to all except God who masterminded everything.
This sacred mystery of the resurrection of the Messiah and its significance was hidden throughout all ages both in Heaven, on Earth, and beyond, even from the very prophets whom God inspired to prophesy of this resurrection.
But the resurrection of Christ was not some private or hidden event. In fact, after the resurrection, He stayed again on earth for forty good days and was physically seen by more than five hundred people (1Co 15:5-6)
And the question that keeps begging for answers is “Why?” Why did He resurrect, and why did He stay on earth for exactly forty days before ascending?
Well, the answer is quite simple if you will take it. The resurrection was God’s secret plan to restore the fallen man to his full glory. And having given man this precious gift of restoration through righteousness, the very Jesus waited forty complete days on earth to make sure everything He paid for, was duly delivered to man. Abba Father!!!!
May the Holy Spirit open your heart to receive all things that are yours in this package that Jesus Christ left for you, in His holy name. Amen
