Today’s Devotional…
It gives God far more pleasure in accomplishing His will for you by Himself, than in watching you hopelessly try to please Him every day.
Should a mother wait for her two-week-old baby to “please her” before she can care for the baby? No. Rather, it brings her joy to clean and care for her baby, regardless of what the baby does. And God’s love is not a mother’s love; it is far stronger than that.
And before you think that you are not a baby, remember that you are not yet up to a hundred years old, but your Father God has been living FOREVER. So, what do you know? And why should God place his happiness on you?
God does not need help, and even if He did, it definitely wouldn’t be from someone who cannot help himself. Ponder…
This is why Godβs gift of righteousness was never a question of human will and human effort, but of His unconditional love. It did not depend on individual willingness nor on men’s strenuous efforts as in a race, but on Godβs boundless love for all mankind, according to His good pleasure.
It pleases God to see you perfect in Him, and He is the only one who has the power to make you perfect in His sight, and He did.
May the eyes of your understanding be enlightened in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
