CAN I PROPHESY?

There is a strange phenomenon in the name of the prophetic proliferating the modern-day church but misrepresenting God in every sense!

This is propagated by a set of soothsayers masquerading as prophets, delivering messages (supposedly from God) but filled with doubts and a lot of  ambiguity.

In a scenario of “prophecy,” the man supposedly hearing from God hardly ever pronounces any name accurately; whether your name or the name of the village or town you come from.

Imagine God Almighty, who knew and interacted with you before He formed you in your mother’s womb; being unable to pronounce your name or the name of the land where He prepared and placed you. Ponder…

If there is a god who cannot pronounce the name of your village or city properly, then that is simply a foreign god who is too young to match the Ancient of Days. Ponder…

Why should you be the one to “help” your “prophet” complete the prophecy God supposedly gave him for you? Has your God forgotten you, or maybe He never knew you in the first place?

Imagine your biological mother, who gave birth to you, and raised you through childhood “struggling” to remember your name or even pronounce it correctly. Would you not rather be rushing her to a mental facility instead of shouting “prophecy!”? Ponder…

Prophecy in scripture was simply the foretelling of the coming of the Messiah to save the world from sin and not this drama of soothsaying we see today.

Today, true prophecy is simply pointing back to the finished works of Christ and clarifying every shadow from scripture with the light of the knowledge in Christ.

So, when next you hear “can I prophecy,” listen, if he is not exegeting scriptures to reveal the finished works of Christ, know that you are dealing with the spirit of soothsaying and not the spirit of prophecy.

May the Holy Spirit grant you understanding, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
