DID CHRIST DIE IN VAIN?

Galatians 2:21
(KJV) I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Today’s Devotional…

The Living Bible translation puts it this way: “I am not one of those who treats Christโ€™s death as meaningless. For if we could be saved by keeping Jewish laws, then there was no need for Christ to die”

Many Christians view Godโ€™s grace as something minor or insufficient. They tend to act as if keeping the law of Moses is what qualifies them as righteous before God.

What the apostle Paul is saying here is that; if righteousness could be earned through works, then Jesus Christ was scourged, severely beaten, mocked, and left hanging on a shameful cross for six whole hours (where He eventually died), all in vain. God forbid!

Yes, if your works can save you from sin, then why did Jesus die? And if Christ actually saved man from sin, then good works should just be a reflection of your nature in Christ, and not ways to make you righteous before God.

If the death of Christ is not enough to make you righteous, then nothing in the world can. Ponder…

May you never be the one who frustrates the grace of God in your generation, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
