Daily Devotionalโฆ
Can Jesus lie? God forbid! Jesus Christ is truth personified. There is no lie in Him; when He speaks, it is truth.
Now imagine what Jesus said about John the Baptist, that he was at the time the greatest man that ever lived. Think about that. The greatest man who ever lived? Greater than Abraham, Moses, Elijah, David, etc? Ponderโฆ
So what made John the Baptist so great, if Jesus did not lie? No, it is not the water baptism, it is something deeper.
It is hidden in John 1:29 which says; “โฆThe next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the worldโฆ”
John said “Behold!” Hold onโฆ John saw with his physical eyes, and touched with his very hands, the Messiah that remained as a mystery throughout all ages and to all humanity – including all the prophets!
John is the last prophet who prophesied about the Messiah. And he is the only prophet who lived to see his prophecy begin to manifest, although he did not get a taste of the salvation. (Topic for another day)
So, who is this Jesus that the prophet who saw Him was called the greatest? May the Holy Spirit reveal this mystery to you as you ponder on this devotional, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
