When Jesus wanted to wash the feet of His disciples, Peter objected because he just could not understand the mystery at the time. However, Jesus persuaded him and went on to wash his feet as planned.
Listen, in your walk with God, there will be moments you just don’t understand Him, but don’t resist by relying on your limited wisdom; just keep following Him.
There are many things Jesus did or said to the apostles while He was with them that they did not understand at the time, either because they could not handle the truth at the time or because the season for that truth had not yet come.
Jesus, speaking to His disciples in John 16:12 said: “I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now”.
Listen, truth is progressive. You may not be able to comprehend everything at the same time, so all you need to do is just to remain patient with an open heart.
The undiluted gospel of Christ must prevail unto the ends of the world sooner or later. So what you don’t understand now, don’t criticize or fight it just yet – you cannot win a battle against God.
Sometimes instead of asking God for understanding, ask Him for patience. There are things you just can’t handle at a certain stage. Until God builds and equips you with the right capacity, He cannot entrust some sacred mysteries of the Gospel of Christ to you. Ponder…
