Today’s Devotional…
Many people know that false teachers exist, but they don’t know how to identify them; however, the scriptures are clear on who they are – they are those who will “deny the Lord” who bought them.
You may say “Oh my pastor does not deny the Lord”. Well, denying the Lord who bought all mankind does not necessarily mean saying so audibly, but refusing to acknowledge the fact that Jesus took away the sin of the world – that is how “He bought them”
False teachers are worse than false prophets because they plant lies in the hearts of men that will grow and possibly be passed on to other generations.
And for many centuries now, the false teachers have been very smoothly teaching that although Jesus claimed to have taken away the sin of the world yet, all men are still sinners needing to work out their own salvation.
But contrary to what you would expect, our opening scripture says many shall follow their pernicious ways. This is because false teachings are so strategically presented that they “make sense”
So, if a large crowd of followers or longevity are your bases for determining what truth is, then it will be difficult for you to escape the influence of false teachers. You need discernment.
May God give you the spirit of discernment to be able to identify and reject false teachers and their teachings, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
