Today’s Devotional…
So many Christians believe that a day is coming called “Judgement Day” on which they will have to “defend” themselves before God, (usually by explaining their actions to God,) assuming He does not know. Laughable.
According to the verse above, there is not one person who can hide their thoughts from God. Nothing that you do is a secret before God, and no creature under heaven is hidden from Him.
What do you want to tell this kind of God on the Judgement Day that He doesn’t already know? Ponder…
Psa 33:13 reminds us that: “The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men”
Even the underworld is naked in Godโs presence, and the place of destruction is uncovered to Him according to Job 26:6
And did you know that it is recorded: “There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves”? So what will you be “explaining” to God on Judgment Day?
Listen, GOD KNOWS… He is omniscient – He knows all things. God knows everything about you, whether things done in the light or in darkness. God knows you in the flesh and in the spirit. Even in death, God knows you.
In Psalms 139:8 it is written: “If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there”. So who can inform God of something hidden or new? Nobody!
This is why God doesn’t doesn’t judge men; God only judged one man Jesus Christ and found Him not guilty. It was this judgment that God passed on all humanity after the cross.
So God doesn’t look at you based on your works, He looks at you based on the finished works of Christ. And the only way for you to show appreciation for this gift of righteousness is for you to look and the price Christ paid and live a life worthy of that price.
May you find rest in the finished works of Christ, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
