LIFT UP HOLY HANDS

LIFT UP HOLY HANDS post thumbnail image

“Therefore, I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or argument.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

Today’s Devotional

The apostle Paul, after proving that Christ completely liberated man from sin, therefore instructed men everywhere to pray, lifting up HOLY hands.

In addition, Paul didn’t just ask them to lift up their hands while praying; he reminded them that they should always do so, never forgetting the holiness they received as a free gift from Christ.

The word “holy” in this context comes from the Greek word “Hosios,” meaning something that is undefiled by sin. Thus, lifting up holy hands in prayer serves as a reminder to God of the price Christ paid to make man undefiled by sin.

Importantly, you cannot make your hands holy—Christ already did. So, if your hands are holy, then your body is holy as well. When you’re conscious of this righteousness, you won’t doubt that God will answer your prayers.

Remember, no barrier stands between you and God. Jesus Christ Himself, our only mediator, testifies to this truth.

If you have a burden in your spirit today, lift up your holy hands, pray with understanding, and heaven will surely respond.

May God answer your prayers as you lift up your holy hands and pray today, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
