MOCKERS OF GOD

Jude 1:17-18 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: 18How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

Today’s Devotionalโ€ฆ

Our Lord Jesus Christ handed the gospel to the apostles, who taught it for the rest of their lives. However, before leaving, they warned their followers of certain “mockers” who would walk after ungodly lusts.

Indeed, these mockers came as predicted, and sadly, nearly 2000 years later, they still exist, some even disguised as preachers.

So, who is a mocker of God? It is anyone who, directly or indirectly, implies that Jesus Christ died in vain. In fact, any teaching that denies the finished work of Christ mocks Godโ€™s wisdom.

For God gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, so all men might be saved. Therefore, to say all men arenโ€™t saved implies God owes Jesus an apology for dying in vain. Ponder this…

Moreover, Jesus didnโ€™t suffer and die a painful, shameful death just to give a few Christians a chance to heaven. This, in turn, mocks the All-loving, All-wise God. Unfortunately, many mockers exist today, even on pulpits. Ponder this…

Furthermore, preachers in the apostles’ order project the totality of Christโ€™s finished works to ensure every reason for His suffering is accounted for.

Jesus paid the price fully for mankindโ€™s salvation. He nailed sin permanently to the cross, making all men righteous. Denying this finished work, therefore, mocks Godโ€™s wisdom and undervalues the ultimate price Jesus paid.

Finally, may you never be a victim of Godโ€™s mockery, and may you never mock God, in Jesusโ€™ name. Amen. Have a wonderful and blessed day. You can subscribe to our newsletter for more devotional.
