Today’s Devotionalโฆ
No, this has nothing to do with what your pastor said in your church “coming to pass”. Prophecy confirmation was when the apostles saw physically for the first time what the prophets and the law only saw in visions.
Philip was one of the first to confirm this prophecy publicly when he told his brother Nathanael, that they had found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. (Joh 1:45)
What the law and prophets only saw in a distant future, came to pass before the very eyes of the apostles.
So, the apostles who were eyewitnesses of the Christ and His sufferings, had a more sure word of prophecy, because unlike the prophets and the law, these apostles saw Him with their very eyes and so could describe with better accuracy, the long-awaited Christ.
The apostles were the ones who confirmed the prophecy of the prophets about the Christ, and so testified. Ponderโฆ
May you, in the same spirit, share in the joy of the testimony of the apostles, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
