Today’s Devotional…
Sometimes, from a distance, you may sit and admire the people who worked directly with Jesus; not knowing what they had to endure.
Can you imagine the disciples of Jesus having to obey Him to go and “steal” a donkey for Him to use? At a time when the law still strongly upheld that stealing was a sin, guess what the disciples did? They OBEYED.
Had the disciples tried to “reason it out first”, they would have been obstructing an ages-old prophecy fulfillment from the prophet Zechariah.
Zec 9:9 records: “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass”
Sometimes, serving Jesus, is all about obedience, whether you understand Him or not. When you try to be too logical or rational in your work with God, you cannot successfully serve Him.
God sees beyond what you can imagine; so your obedience to Him is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of your trust in Him.
Has God called you? Then don’t try to help Him, know that your only responsibility is OBEDIENCE.
May the Holy Spirit give you the spirit of obedience to work with Him, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
