Many men of God today preach only the glorious side of the gospel but ignore the price that true martyrs of the same gospel paid.
Everyone wants to see the power of God rescue them when they face challenges. But some men, like Stephen, who had the power to perform all sorts of signs and wonders, chose to die for the gospel.
As Stephen was being stoned to death for the gospel, the heavens opened, and he saw Christ. Instead of calling for help, Stephen asked to be received in heavenโhe chose death.
Today, no one wants to sacrifice anything for the gospel because they believe God will do everything for them. But according to the scriptures, the earliest apostolic fathers would rather give up everything for Christ.
What foundation of the gospel are you standing on? In fellowship with God, He holds nothing from you, and you should hold nothing from Him.
May the Holy Spirit help you understand the mystery of sacrifice for the gospelโs sake, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
