Today’s Devotional…

Who else would have any interest in the salvation of the world except the one who created it in the first place? Ponder…

Could a God powerful enough to create this complex world suddenly become too weak to rescue it from destruction? Ponder

So, all-powerful God, who created the world needs help from humans (who were themselves created by Him) to save His world from sin?

Is man that powerful that he could save himself from sin yet was not powerful enough to have created himself?

Who should be more worried about the destruction of the world, the Creator or the creature? Shouldn’t the shame rather be to the Creator if all the wonderful works of His hands are destroyed? Ponder…

The idea that the salvation of man is dependent on man is an alien idea that projects God as a weak and irresponsible father who is incapable of protecting or rescuing his own children from an enemy he created.

Why create a world and abandon it to its fate of destruction? Wouldn’t that rather project hatred instead of love? Does “mother hen” leave her chicks to save themselves? How much more of your Father God who is Love?

Listen, long before the coming of Christ, the prophet Isaiah answered all these questions in one verse – our opening verse.

The saviour of the world is God, there is no one else powerful enough and loving enough to do so. And it was God’s unique responsibility as the creator of the world to save His world from sin and death. And indeed, God saved the world through Christ Jesus our Lord.

May God be praised forever and ever, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
