(KJV) Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
Today’s Devotional…
Just like in the days of the prophet Jeremiah, sometimes we may not feel like preaching the gospel, but it just keeps coming out because, as the apostle Paul says, the word of God cannot be bound.
So, sometimes we do not preach the gospel because people happily receive it, but because it is shut up in our bones like fire, and we are just tired of holding it in.
Act 18:5 says: “And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ”
Just like Paul, when we are pressed in the spirit will not resist but continue to preach Christ whether people accept Him or not.
The gospel of Christ is like pregnancy which when it is due, you cannot hold back the baby from coming.
This is why we stick to the gospel and motivational speeches, for we have been filled only with the knowledge of the finished works of Christ, which is the greatest expression of God’s love, and man’s salvation story.
May nothing stop you from sharing the gospel, whether in season or out of season, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
