Today’s Devotionalโฆ
Isn’t it a mystery that the life we have today came from death? Yes, it took the death of the man Jesus Christ for God to give eternal life to all men. Ponderโฆ
According to human wisdom, the death of one guy somewhere called Jesus could not in any way be a demonstration of love to sinners. Except that this Jesus was not a regular human – He was righteous.
No one could have imagined that God’s wisdom to save man from sin was to kill one righteous man, except that they ignored what the law had said concerning sin and death.
According to the law of Moses, only the soul that sinned was expected to die, and no righteous soul was by any means whatsoever permitted to die.
So the killing of Jesus Christ who “knew no sin” would have been a very grievious violation of the law of Moses, had it not been that He indeed died in the place of another – the sinful one.
So the mystery of the great exchange was accomplished: the righteous man died in the place of the sinful man so that the sinful man could live in the place of the righteous. Selah!
May the Holy Spirit grant you understanding into this mystery of life, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
