Today’s Devotional…
Almost every Christian wants to be righteous before God, except that most of them do not have a definite definition of righteousness.
If righteousness is what you do or refrain from doing, can you list down, an exhaustive list of “dos and don’ts” that one can apply to attain the state of righteousness?
And if you say righteousness is obedience to the law of Moses, can you list down all the laws Moses gave that can make a man righteous? (Hint: there were 603 other laws, in addition to the 10 commandments which you may probably know)
All Christians can at least agree that Jesus was righteous, but we all know at the same time that Jesus broke many laws, which is one major reason His own people accused and killed Him.
And if there was a certified list of things people could do to gain righteousness, what then was the need for Jesus to come?
Until the Holy Spirit explicitly reveals the formula for righteousness to you, the gospel of Christ will remain a mystery.
May the Holy Spirit reveal the mystery of righteousness to you, and answer the questions in your soul, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
