Today’s Devotional
The apostle Paul, addressing the elders of the church in Ephesus, a town where he had spent three years in intensive teaching of the scriptures, reminded them of his hard work to meet his needs and the needs of his team.
If this information were not true, at least one of the elders would have contested. If they didn’t, it was because indeed Paul worked amongst them with his own hand rather than trying to put all his burden on the people simply because he was their pastor.
May young ministers of the gospel today think that to preach the gospel, you must not do any other thing as a sign of devotion to the assignment. But no, Paul worked and preached all very effectively.
The enemy has taken advantage of the phrase “full-time ministry” and has introduced tricksters in the body of Christ who devise all sorts of strategies to milk money out of gullible followers with a genuine quest for God.
Serving God is not a business opportunity where men engage to make money or amass material wealth and fame for themselves. It is an opportunity to serve God and serve the people in all lowliness of heart.
If God can bless the work of the hands of your congregation, He can bless the works of your hands more, even with little effort.
So, stop thinking you are not a full-time minister of the gospel simply because you are working something. You are God’s servant. Rise and accept your assignment.
May the Holy Spirit help you to fulfill your ministry assignment successfully in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
