THE PRICE OF SALVATION

Many Christians have what they call their “salvation testimony/story.” Most of these so-called personal testimonials somehow try to project the fact that it was the individual’s effort that earned him/her salvation. But this is very erroneous and misleading.

Many Christians believe that the price they paid to earn “their salvation” is the pleasures of the world that they had to abandon to focus on what they call “the things of God” Laughable!

What do you think was the actual price for your salvation? The truth is, you could never afford it if you knew.

The price for your salvation was blood. Sorry, not your blood but the blood of one man Jesus Christ – the lamb without spots, without blemish. So, how could you ever pay for such a salvation when the currency to pay for it ran in the veins of someone else?

Amongst all men that ever lived on earth, only the blood in the veins of Jesus Christ was considered legal tender for the payment of sin.

Legal tender is any form of currency that, by law, cannot be refused as payment to extinguish a debt equal to the amount offered. Abba Father!

It was Jesus Christ who paid the price for salvation and not man. It was Jesus who suffered, was despised, rejected mocked, tortured, and eventually crucified shamefully on a cross like a criminal – that was the price, not your “salvation testimony”

The price for the salvation of mankind was too heavy that, not even the joint effort of all mankind put-together could pay. Since man could not pay, Jesus paid with His blood and gave it to mankind completely free.

Salvation is the most precious gift humanity has ever received from God. Your “salvation testimony” is simply the day your eyes opened to accept the gift that Jesus Christ gave to all mankind more than 2000 years ago. Ponder…

You cannot save yourself, no man can. Salvation belongs to Christ. He is the only one who paid for it in full. No human efforts can add to the salvation package Christ already gave to humanity. Stop taking the glory for salvation, stop seeking salvation. Accept the free gift of salvation that was given to mankind and rest in it.

May the Holy Spirit grant you the understanding you need in this area so that you can begin to live a life of appreciation to God from today, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
