Today’s Devotional…
Many Christians have been struggling to “work out their salvation with fear and trembling” according to Philippians 2:12, forgetting that the very next verse, that is, Philippians 2:13 says: “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure”
The struggle to please God in the flesh did not start with you, and if all those who tried before you did not find the formula, you will not be the first to find it.
The reason is simple: God’s final judgment on mankind was not based on our humanity, but rather on the divinity of Christ, which He shared with all humanity when He saved the world.
Until you are fully awakened to your divine nature in Christ, a natural law in your flesh will stop you from doing all good, no matter how strong your willpower may be. Ponder…
So, instead of struggling hopelessly, why don’t you just accept help? For it is the Holy Spirit that helpeth your infirmities, and God works in us both to will and to do His good pleasure. Ponder…
In John 14:16, Jesus Christ Himself understanding the frailty of human nature, prayed for a Comforter or Helper who would abide with man forever.
Listen; accepting help from God is not a sign of weakness, but rather a demonstration of your faith in Him – an act which pleases Him.
This is why even David, in all his might, said in Psalms 121:1-2: “…I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth…”
The Holy Spirit is here to help you from today; accept help, and you will never struggle to do good again, but it will eternally flow from you effortlessly, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
