Today’s Devotionalโฆ

The coming of Christ was a long-awaited event that was the central message of all the prophets and the only expectation of all humanity.
Before the coming of Christ, several prophets spoke in various ways about His coming, most of whom did not have a clear understanding of what they were saying. Nevertheless, none of their prophecies was subject to any private interpretation, not even of themselves.
Jesus came at the exact time to fulfill a specific purpose, and He did exactly that.
Jesus Christ is the good news that the Old Testament prophets promised through the ages. His mission was to reconcile humanity with God, and that is exactly what He accomplished.
Any other gospel apart from Christ is not “The Gospel”, it is “another gospel”
There is only one piece of good news (or gospel) that all the prophets and the law pointed to, and that is Jesus Christ who came and died for the sins of all mankind.
Even today, Jesus Christ remains the only gospel. Preaching “the gospel” today simply means pointing back to the finished works of Christ.
Today, “the good news” is no longer a promise, it is history. Humanity is no longer waiting to be reconciled to God, the blood of Jesus Christ did that some two thousand years ago.
You live and move and have your being in Christ – the Saviour of mankind. You live in the fulfillment of the long-awaited promise echoed by the prophets.
May the Holy give you the understanding of the times in which you live, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
