Today’s Devotionalโฆ
An empty mind is better than one filled with the wrong knowledge.
Whenever you have nothing consistent with the gospel to tell someone, it is better not to leave them alone, for by intuition, they may find truth.
“Little ones” in the context of our opening scripture refers to those vulnerable individuals who look up solely to you for divine direction and information.
These are individuals who would take anything from you, as if God were talking to them directly. If you feed them the wrong knowledge and cause them to erroneously believe in sin, and enslave themselves in it, their bondage is counted against you.
Listen there are people who are greatly ignorant of the truth of the gospel of Christ simply because they did not have any opportunity. They only heard from one source, and it was wrong.
Listen, your sincerity cannot correct the truth. You can be sincere in your beliefs, but sincerely wrong. Not because you rejected the truth, but simply because you were only told a lie.
This is what the apostle James had to say concerning this: “Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more severely than others.” (Jas 3:1 ISV)
May the Holy Spirit help you never to be the one who leads children astray but the one who leads them in the path of righteousness, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
