Today’s Devotional…
We are all perfect in Christ by default. This is as a result of the death of Jesus Christ, which was indeed the death of all sinful mankind. This single act brought perfection on all men; not by their works, but by the faith of Christ.
Now, the perfected man is the one who has attained a permanent state of consciousness of this default. And this can only come through the knowledge of the Son of God, and His finished works.
The confidence you express in your perfection can only come from a clear understanding of Jesus Christ and what He represents, as far as the identity of humanity is concerned.
Jesus Christ, did not die to save just some “faithful” individuals; no. The invitation that brought Christ into the world clearly stated that all people had sinned. So, when He decided to come, He came to save all, not some.
The main problem is that, the “sin” that Jesus came to free mankind from, is invisible. So even when He had freed all men, there was still no evidence of their freedom, just as there was never any evidence of their bondage. Ponder…
Similarly, the perfection of man was equally invisible; but when you deeply meditate on the birth, death, and resurrection of Christ, your perfection becomes visible and tangible; first to you, and then to others.
May your zeal to know Christ as He is, unveil your perfection from within, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
