Today’s Devotional…

True submission is not submission to a husband, pastor, or leadership. True submission is submission to the righteousness of God.

God’s righteousness is not earned through works, we submit to it.

Many Christians still make the mistake Israel made many years ago. They try to establish their own righteousness by works instead of submitting to God’s for free. Apostle Paul calls this ignorance.

Many Christians today, because of their misconduct, and weaknesses of the flesh, still see themselves as dirty sinners hated and rejected by God.

This frustration sets them on a frenzied struggle to please God that only builds anxiety but never produces any satisfactory results.

God knew from the beginning that you would desire to do everything in your power to obey His laws and to please Him; but He also knew from the same beginning that you would not be able to do so.

It was for this reason that God slew a Lamb before the foundation of the world, to prepare a gift of righteousness for you in Christ. This is clearly expressed in Ephesians 1:4,5.

Submitting to the righteousness of God lightens your spirit to walk more in that light than hopelessly attempting to obey laws that you barely know even exist.

Spirituality is not struggling to avoid “sin” or obey the laws of God. True spirituality is accepting the most precious gift from your Father God, which is the righteousness that came from the finished works of Christ.

When you submit to God’s righteousness, righteousness just begins to flow from you effortlessly. Those who reflect God’s righteousness more, are those who submit to it and not those who attempt to create their own. Ponder…

May the Holy Spirit help you to be submissive from today, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
