Today’s Devotional…

Many Christians today still believe that to live right before God, one must obey the Ten Commandments. Simple as it may sound, it appears impossible for Christians to adhere to the commandments.

Our opening verse offers help: Instead of struggling with stringent commandments that you can never hold onto, just walk in LOVE.

If you can express perfect love, then you don’t need commandments.

Commandments are for slaves. What God requires from His children is communion – and He set the stage for that in Christ.

Commandments project superiority and stir fear, while communion brings equality and oneness – that was God’s purpose for reconciliation.

A healthy relationship between father and son is defined by communion and not commandments. You are in a family, and not the military.

Love replaces all commandments. Love is not a commandment, it is a nature.

Love is God’s nature which is expressed through Jesus Christ. And Jesus Christ has shared this nature with you. You are built to love, believe me.

Loving occurs in you more naturally and more effortlessly than hatred, envy, anger, jealousy, or bitterness. Try love, and you will testify.

May the Holy Spirit help you never to struggle with love, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
